Mick is a trial lawyer who serves the cause of justice.
The cause of justice is an ideal that transcends any individual case. When a client’s claim aligns with the cause of justice, equity prevails.
Mick helps law firms, businesses, organisations and individuals advance civil trials. He has been lead trial counsel on a variety of trials, arbitrations and hearings on the merits. Mick now offers his trial experience to clients as co-counsel or trial consultant.
The types of disagreements Mick works on include real estate, estates, personal injury, tort, negligence, contract, corporate, employment, construction, defamation, fraud, malpractice and other civil and commercial litigation matters.
Mick is knowledgeable across a wide variety of civil and commercial matters, however, he is typically retained for trial advocacy experience, which informs how to properly assess claims and ready them for trial.
Mick has been consulted by lawyers, business owners, organisation leaders and individuals, including those representing themselves, on hundreds of cases.
Mick is the author of the Ontario Civil Trial Handbook, the Ontario Civil Trial Manual, Civil Litigation D.I.Y. and the Ontario Civil Trial Checklist, among other publications.
Mick is a graduate of the Canadian Securities Institute (CIM), McGill (B.Com.), University of Glasgow (M.Phil.), Western Law (LL.B.) and a member of the Law Society of Ontario (Barrister-at-Law).
